You might remember Bethany & Ethan from their spring time Bodie Island Engagement Session. We were so so excited for their Hatteras Island Wedding this fall and it did not disappoint. Bethany & Ethan both got ready at a house in Avon before heading down to Buxton for their ceremony at Our Lady of the Seas. Father Fred has to be one of my favorites – he always makes everyone laugh and feel so comfortable. I love his weddings! All day we had weather looming, but thankfully mother nature held out on the rain.
A few days before the wedding their planner, Ashley, let me in on a little surprise….Bethany had been working on something big. One day while driving some back roads Ethan saw his dream truck…an old Chevy Scottsdale truck….just sitting there for sale waiting to be restored. The thought crossed his mind to buy it but quickly passed it by and went on. Little did he know a couple days after that Bethany snuck back out there and bought that old truck. For the past several months, with the help of her brother, Bethany has been spending her free time working on the truck as a surprise for Ethan – and surprised he was! After the ceremony, as a diversion, I kept the two of them in the church for a few photos so Bethany’s brother could drive it around. As they made their exit there it was! To say Ethan was surprised was the understatement of the year and some of my favorite photos!!
With the bridal party in tow we all followed behind Ethan & Bethany (in his new, old truck) to the Bodie Island Lighthouse for photos before heading back to Koru to get the party started. Their gorgeous reception was the perfect way to end a perfect day!
