I’m so so so pumped to be getting Sarah & Seth’s gorgeous lifestyle engagement session on the blog today! Sarah’s a fellow OBX Photographer and owner of Sarah D’Ambra Photography, and I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her engagement session. They’ll be tying the knot later this year in an intimate ceremony in NYC, but wanted to capture some photos with their adorable pup in their new house. Since buying their first house right here on Roanoke Island they’ve been slowing doing renovations…and the light and airy decor they’ve picked is this photographer’s dream!
I’m so so excited to have Bailee & Grant’s gorgeous Corolla Wedding on the blog today! Last fall I was with these two photographing their engagement session in Downtown Manteo and here we are almost a year later telling their love story! To say it’s been a rough year for weather would be an understatement. Rain, rain, hurricanes, and more rain have made it difficult to say the least….which is why we could not have bee more thrilled to have a such a gorgeous day for them to say “I Do”.
There were so many details about this sweet southern wedding that had my heart beating! From Bailee’s stunning lace dress to her monogram shoes – no detail was left undone! They opted to have a First Look at the Historic Whalehead Club, which is probably one of the best decisions a couple can make! After portraits with their bridal party it was back to Pelican’s Landing and to get the show on the road with the ceremony. Mother Nature could not have blessed us with a more perfect day. Blue skies, blue water, and some of the best tidal pools we’ve seen in a while. Perfect for those reflection shots! Everyone at their wedding had a blast, and their dance floor was packed all night long!
The blog has been pretty neglected this summer because we’ve been so.crazy.busy. Summer family season has come to and end and now wedding season is in full swing, so it’s only fitting we jump back into blogging with Chris & Emily’s Roanoke Island engagement session in Historic Downtown Manteo. These two are getting married next year at one of my FAVORITE venues – 108 Budleigh! We started our session right in front of Budleigh, and then wandered our way through town. Sometimes you just hit spots at the perfect time, and that was definitely the case as we started to make our way back across the bridge from Festival Park to the waterfront! I’m so excited to have these two on the blog today and can’t wait for their wedding next fall!!
Last week I had the chance to meet up with Julie, Chip, and their kids at Coquina Beach for their Outer Banks Beach Portraits. After a string of bad weather we were blessed with some really cool 75 degree days, which was heaven in the middle of summer! Gorgeous lighting, no wind, and even less humidity – it was the perfect night on the beach!
The couple that sweats together stays together….at least that’s what I kept reminding Lizzy & Joe during their Outer Banks Engagement Session! I’m not sure we could have had more sticky hot weather than we did this day but they were such troopers and powered through the heat (and sweat!) to tough it out together. Downtown Manteo is one of my most favorite spots for photographing and Lizzy & Joe’s session reminds me why! So many adorable little nooks and crannies that make the perfect backdrops. Lizzy & Joe are getting married this fall at The Crown Jewel, a Kill Devil Hills event home, and we couldn’t be more excited to capture their love story!
