Erin & Elena were my first wedding of the 2015 season, and those are some big shoes to fill! I had such a hard time finishing this blog post because I couldn’t pick my favorites – I loved them ALL….and I love Erin & Elena! Because all of their planning trips had been during cold weather, we actually met up the week of their wedding for their OBX Engagement Session where I really got to get to know them both….and their awesome dog, Guinness. From them moment I met them they were both so relaxed and easy going I knew we’d be a great fit and their wedding would be awesome.

I prayed all week for nice weather, because the forecast was not looking so good. The Wedding Gods must have had mercy on me (and knew I’d NOT be happy if we started the season with a rainy wedding) because we made it all the way through dinner before the rain started. They decided early on to do a “First Look” and it was one of the best decisions! After a private moment their family joined in and we were able to get all the family formals done prior to the ceremony and even have a little extra time to head down to the water for some more couple photos.

My favorite thing about their wedding was the constant presence of so much love. Not just between Erin & Elena but between their family and friends as well. Everyone made us feel like we were part of the family! The amazing thing about being a wedding photographer is becoming such an intimate part of the most important day in the life of a couple – getting to see the tender moments and love between them. Erin & Elena – thank you for trusting me to tell your love story!
