I loved getting to work with this sweet family at Coquina Beach in Nags Head last week for their Outer Banks Beach Portraits! Their little one is quite possibly the cutest guy ever! So full of personality and laughter – it’s sessions like this that make me really love my job. We could not have had a more gorgeous night to play on the beach and capture their vacation memories!
Jeff and his family were one of my first beach portraits for the season this year! With bad weather looming we were able to juggle some days around and get their photos done the night they arrived in town. It could not have been a more gorgeous night for their Outer Banks Beach Portraits! Their session took place at one of my favorite spots – Coquina Beach in South Nags Head. It is THE perfect spot for OBX Beach Portraits, and so glad they opted to make the drive there. Rolling dunes, blue sky, and gorgeous water – the perfect trifecta for a gorgeous evening of beach portraits!
We started their session up near the dunes, incorporating a mixture of family photos as well as just some of mom & dad, and just the kids. We even managed to get their sweet pup into some photos, and despite all the distractions of the beach she did AMAZING and was the perfect poser for photos! I love when people incorporate their pets into their session, and always welcome sweet puppies on the beach!
Lauren & Devin’s Outer Banks Wedding is what beach wedding dreams are made of. Beautiful blue skies, a slight breeze, and the best group of guests you could ask for!
Prior to their Corolla North Carolina Wedding, I got the chance to work with Lauren & Devin at their Whalehead Club Engagement Session. Their sweet dog, Francesca, stole my heart – and these two right along with her! They are the sweetest, most easy-going couple, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have been there to capture their day. If there is one thing that I noticed about their families, it’s that once you’re in – you’re in forever! This was not the first OBX Wedding for Lauren’s family, as her sister was also married on the beach a few years ago! Once again enlisting the help of coordinator, Brenda, their day could not have been more perfect.
I arrived to find Devin and his guys all searching YouTube for instructions on how to tie a bowtie. Typical..ha! I left them in the capable hands of Sara, and headed off the find the girls. Thankfully they must be good at instructions because they figured it out and looked so handsome! Seersucker. Bowties. Yes Please!Fresh from Lovies Salon, Lauren and her girls looked amazing! I quickly got to work on photographing the details, and before we knew it…it was time to get the dress on! Lauren’s Allure Bridal Gown was stunning – I’m a little biased because I too was an Allure Bride! They are my favorite! The rest of their day was filled with love and a whole lot of laughter!
I’m so thankful these two picked me to tell their love story!

What could be more wonderful than saying “I Do” on the beaches of the Outer Banks, over looking the Atlantic?
Thomas & Jody’s Nags Head Beach Wedding could not have been more perfect! I first met Jody during one of her planning trips early on, but didn’t get to meet Thomas until their OBX Engagement Session just a few short weeks before the wedding. One of the first things I picked up on just by watching them interact was how much Thomas loved Jody. As photographers, we see *everything*….and we notice everything. The way he looks at her will just melt your heart – and it was even more clear on their wedding day! I met up with Jody and her girls at the salon while having their hair done before we all headed back to the house. For days we’d been watching the weather, praying that we wouldn’t need to implement the backup plan. Mother Nature was on our side, because even though it stayed mostly overcast all day long it never did rain!!
Jody’s bridesmaids could not have been more fun to be around, they kept me laughing all day long, while Thomas and his guys enjoyed beer in the game room waiting for the ceremony to start. Not to be overlooked, their sweet pup Dakota made quite the entrance with her flower necklace. She was a hit throughout the day and night – making herself known at all the key moments! Without a doubt this day could not have been possible without their amazing team of vendors! Everyone pulled out all the stops to make sure the day was perfect. We are so thankful to have been there to tell their love story!

Samantha & Andrew’s Nags Head Beach Engagement Session at Coquina Beach.
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Samantha & Andrew at one of my favorite spots, Coquina Beach, in South Nags Head, for their engagement session. Samantha found me online while searching for Outer Banks Photographers, and I was so glad she did! Having recently gotten engaged, Samantha knew she wanted to have beach photos taken during vacation! We managed to have one of the most windy days possible, but these two were troopers! It’s not easy to be a girl outside, but thanks to the gorgeous dunes Coquina had to offer we managed to find the perfect spots to tuck into. After what’s felt like a really hard spring I was thrilled to have bright blue skies and flat sand for some of my favorite photos down by the water.
