This week I did something I haven’t done in a loooong time….fished! You’d think being married to a Sportfish captain means I would fish all the time? Nope! In fact, the extent of my fishing is limited to mostly Mexico when I fly down while he’s got the boat there during the winter months. The rest of the year I’m just too busy to go. The Outer Banks is known as one of the premier sportfishing places on not only the east coast, but also the world. Home to the custom Carolina boats, known for their “Carolina Flair”, the OBX boasts some of the most versatile options and various seasons….there is always something to catch. This time of year is a special time for fishing, we’re currently having the “white marlin bite” and the fishing is phenomenal! I took a rare day off, with no sessions or weddings, and spent the day with my hubby and friends white marlin fishing. It was an epic day, with 15 white marlin releases! To add to that, I had my first white marlin release….and it could not have happened on a better day! For now it’s back to the grind, as wedding season starts in full force from this weekend on!
My hubby is so serious when he’s fishing!
Yours truly reeling in my first White Marlin!!
Some couples bond over coffee or mini-golf. We bond fishing…welcome to the OBX!
